I would like to know if there is any 'realistic' interest in a training camp in Whitehorse in June for (only) JWOC athletes - US and Canadian. Dates would be Wed. June 11 to Wed June 18. Training would be sandwiched between two meets (Yukon Champs Middle and Long) on the two Wed. evenings. Still need to confirm various details here of course, including which of our coaches will be able to contribute.(We have about 7 ex WOC/JWOC club members). Costs would be minimal by having athletes billeted. Return airfare from Vancouver on Air North is about $450 right now.

There may still be interest from those not going in early June

Just bumping this up. Juniors could take this in 'on their way' to Europe as Condor has flights from Whitehorse to Frankfurt.

Hi, Ross! This sounds great and I'll mention it. Erin's trip with juniors starts June 9th; but some are joining later. Seems like a great opportunity.

By the way, it would be great to talk about US & Canada JWOC teams possibly training together before JWOC this summer -- if this is of interest perhaps the coaches / team leaders of the two countries could speak directly? We've already informally offered spaces on our summer trip to a couple non-US juniors and now is a good time to talk because we're making accommodation and other arrangements now.

Just to provide a bit more detail on Europe access from Whitehorse. Condor flies DIRECT from Whitehorse to Frankfurt "over the top". It's about 8hrs and very convenient. I just checked the prices - as low as $620CA one way - which isn't too bad from the west coast. So going via Whitehorse to Europe is a reasonable way to go.
