One of the legendary Jukola teams, having finished last or near last many times: ÄSS (Äänekosken comicbook club). Team member Jyrki Nummela:
"I was invited to ÄSS team just two days before the relay and just before I left for a two-day boat trip to Stockholm. I had done only a little bit of orienteering some 15 years ago in my junior high school. I returned from Stockholm on the Saturday morning and in the same evening I left for my first ever Jukola. The only advice I got from my team mates was that the small black marks on the map are stones and the rest is irrelevant.
My personal stage time (at the third leg) was 8 hrs 21 minutes and 59 seconds and it is believed to be the slowest in the history of Jukola relay. But I found all the 22 control flags, didn't I." The longer account of this in Finnish is hilarious: Jyrki's legendary first run for ÄSS There is also a bit more in English from one of the tabs.
