Just to get fitter... currently there's a fictional half marathon in March. Maybe I'll actually sign up to one (with the objective of running around 1:30), but the main reason is that I've been really fed up doing orienteering race recently and feeling that I can't compete because I'm not fit enough (i.e. Scotland)... That's the key motivation
Good idea to get into a training plan, but definitely think it worth entering a half marathon or something like that with a clear target in mind - helps to have something to focus the training on! Orienteering results will improve anyway once you get fitter - mind you your recent night results look pretty damn good to me!
