FYI: My name and at least a couple other names are missing under the Red category for the Ultra-Long.
Mine also, already sent email to Tapio
Matej shows up in the splitalyzer as #12 on red because of an incorrect finish split.
The Ultra Long RouteGadget setup is now fixed. There were problems in the splits file that caused many runners to be excluded. Fixing an issue like this after the event is already set and numerous routes drawn is quite a challenge.
Anyway, given the problems with so many e-punch units, it was a miracle that the splits were salvaged in the first place.
What was the SI failure mode? Hardware? Software? Use? Any lessons the rest of us can learn?
It appears that when the controls were timesynced, some didn't take, although they beeped. The course setter for this Sunday's meet wasn't able to sync the time either on those controls. It's yet to be determined what is wrong with them.
I think the proper procedure should be to turn them over and check the time on the LED.
A good check is to punch them all after syncing one after another and do a printout and look at the splits.
Good thing our guru checked out the Cascade set before tomorrow's meet. I wonder if the DST change was a factor?
Thanks to BAOC for a really great meet. We enjoyed good company and good competition! It's really fun to sit down with our daughter, Anna, and analyze her experience on White - having Routegadget really makes a difference. Somehow it's much more interesting when it's on the computer!
I know that there are a gazillion US Champs now, but has there ever been an elite US Champion as old as 63? (and a silver medalist is 69!)
I'd love to still be running elite in the year 2043.
There was a back-and-forth between Peter and Sharon for a long time to see who could be the oldest person to win M/F21 at an A-meet (not necessarly a championship) where Sharon had the advantage because she's three weeks older, so if they do it at the same meet, she comes out ahead. I'm not sure which of them did it most recently. I think by the terms they were operating under, Penny doesn't get the nod for this one because she was beaten by Carol.
