So, the following rumors have been heard drifting in the wind as to where the next couple of Billygoats might be...
2014: Baldwin Hill (NEOC)
2015 or 2016: Water Gap (DVOA) or Bear Brook (UNO)

Anybody hearing anything else?

I can picture the scene at the entry to the boulder field at BB. Runners pausing to gather critical pack mass.

Didn't gordhun say something about putting on a mass-start race in Florida sometime soon?

Is Baldwin Hill hilly enough? I can't recall any hills there that make my jaw drop.

Hillier than Northfield Mount Hermon School.

jjc I assumed your first posting was just your musing of where and when you would like to see a Goat race held.
I hadn't been thinking of hosting a Bubba Goat race in Florida this season. Besides that event is supposed to rotate between FL, GA, AL and NC.
But now that you mention it the chance is there to use an absolutely awesome and different type of venue on the east coast of Florida a bit south of the Kennedy Space Center. It is primarily best suited for Bike-O but a goat would interesting, too. I've talked to represtatives of the city and they are thrilled with the idea of orienteering coming to town. (The city manager is a mountain biker).
So show of hands: who would be interested in a weekend of orienteering - bike, goat, classic ,maybe even night and sprint possibly as early as the second weekend of next March?
PS My next goat race in Florida may not be called Bubba. That's not a very popular name locally. Palm Goat? Orange Goat? Space Goat? Gordie Goat? (that last one was one of my nicknames as a pre-teen)

So which of those four southeastern clubs is due to host this year? Is there a definite rotation pattern?

@JJ hmmm. I don't think that one would go over too well either. How about the Silver Goat? Or the Snowbird Goat?

Or maybe the 'Gator Goat. Or the Billygator?

Billygator. I like that one! How about the Navi - gator? I don't think there has been a definite rotation. It was at least six years between the last two Florida goats.

Welll... I heard a rumor that someone was doing it at Baldwin Hill, and as I recall, several years ago they mentioned that it could include Beech Hill also (a bit hillier) but there is this matter of a set of active RR tracks, but there are these culverts.................
Will there be a prize for the Culvert Crawl leg?

The Baldwin Hill event is going to materialize shortly, the main point of this thread is to make sure nobody else already had plans to do it elsewhere next spring. Whether or not Beech Hill will be involved remains to be seen.

Sometime near the end of 2014, I suspect the words "Mountain Lakes" will become part of this conversation...
