I've recently entered the world of GPS tracking, and used it during orienteering this last weekend at the Sierra Summerfest events. I was wondering the best way to overlay my tracks on the orienteering map. I know many orienteers use Quick Route, but that is a windows application, and I'm a mac user. Does anyone know of any similar software that will run native on a mac (without having to use windows in parallels)?
Thanks

For an off-line option not dependent on your OS you can use 2D/3D Rerun. You can either upload your map and then your gps route or, if someone else happens to have already uploaded the map, just throw your gps route in. You can then watch your dot race all the other dots.

my simple qdr app runs on mac, windows and linux.
native standalone app for mac: http://nopsa.kuvat.fi/qdr/
windows installer etc here: http://www.routegadget.net/gps/QDRoute.zip

overlay example: http://iso-henna.com/doma/show_map.php?user=Jagge&...
as you can see there is black dot every 10 seconds and big dot every minute. makes it easy to calculate time losses. IMHO far better than images made with quick route - you have no idea how much time is lost because there is just red color.

Otrax was made with the intention of being a QuickRoute for Mac: http://www.otrax.ch/

I have never used it, and know next to nothing about it, other than it exists.
