Hi Ken,

I've somehow screwed up the Barebones event so that I'm having trouble loading the split times. I have most of the course splits loaded but I've got a few problems:

1. I have a "Barebones" and a "Barebones Chase" title - somehow. Not sure exactly what I mean by that
2. When I load the Chase splits, it seems to update four courses from the Chase event, and one course from the SEtup event - rather than all five CHase courses

Sorry - I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to delete all the splits (and the "Barebones Chase" event to try again. Any way you could guide me to how to do this - or do it for me. I can send the XML files that I'm having trouble with if that is interesting

I think I have this straightened out now, let me know if I missed something.

1. You can change the name after importing by using the edit details link on the race splits page. I fixed this in the one place I noticed (Chase 1).

2. The key thing on this one is that on the last step of the import, you can pick what "action" you want to do with each course in your file. If the results look a lot like an existing race (based on number of controls and common competitors), AP's recommended action is to update that one. The other options you can select are to create a new race, or ignore the course (no import).

AP usually does a good job of suggesting the right action, but in this case it was leading you off-course. The problem only affected course 4 because it was the only one where the setup/chase had the same number of controls. So when this happens you should change the action for that one course from "update existing" to "create new" to match the rest of your new courses.

Awesome. Amazing.
Thanks Ken for fixing it and for the spot-on explanation of where I went wrong. And of course for having this feature (among all the others;) - I'm sure the APers at Barebones this year will be happy to have splits on AP
