My neighbor told me this morning that an orienteer was on Jeopardy last night. Who was that?
Kip Sturdevan formerly of Quantico was on Jeopardy! about 25 years ago. He won about $15,000. But I guess they are not doing re-runs.
The most famous Jeopardy player of all time is a map nerd, but doesn't orienteer.
Barb, that's correct. I got the following e-mail from John Charlow last night about it:
"Any of you who watched Jeopardy on NBC TV this evening were no doubt pleasantly surprised to hear, in an aside with host Alex Trebek, an excellent description of the sport of orienteering.
Contestant, George McAleese, had participated a few times at Quantico O Club events.
Unfortunately, he lost his ‘champion’ status this evening."
Well, it's quite apparent which O club has the smartest members.
And another (former) QOC member (and one-time club president) was on Jeopardy!: Kathy Webber.
