I would just like to say thank you so much to all the Juniors, Parents and Coaches who came along this weekend. I had a great time, and it looked like the Juniors did too. Special shout out to Clint, Barb and Guy who helped with the organisation, Clint for planning today and hanging all 55 streamers himself in a foot of snow, my crack team of super coaches Alex, Anna, Ian and Giacomo for hanging and shadowing, Liisa and Rob for our wonderful dinner, and Nellie and Earl for organising collection of all the controls. And everyone else, thanks for being awesome.

A wonderful bunch of people and an excellent time. If anyone has any feedback, we'd be happy to hear it.

And a huge thank you to Becky! Without our fearless leader, none of this would have happened, and I certainly felt like we all got a lot out of the weekend! Thank you not only for hosting the training camp, but also for going a step above and beyond, and opening your home to us, feeding us dinner, and arranging the strength workout. What a great weekend!

Me, too. Thanks, Becky for all you did. It was really inspired. A very fine weekend.

Great weekend. Big thanks for your efforts and those of the wonderful team of helpers. I learned a bunch that I should have been doing for many years. Now to try to keep those going.

Thanks Becky and Clint.
Beautiful weekend! Nice courses, well organized and the kids enjoyed it.
We were able to finally touch solid ground in the woods - our snow is still 3ft deep in NH. UNO is willing to help with the next one.
See you at West Point.

That's great news that UNO is willing to help with the next one! Thanks for making the trip.

Thanks Becky, Clint, Alex and all who helped. This was great training from the warm ups through the Peg race. Zac got a huge lift in his confidence by chasing Giacomo and Ian through the terrain in the Peg race.

I think a fall training weekend folded into the UNO family camping weekend would be ideal - already have the venue, most excellent terrain, you could probably generate 'training' courses using the regular course controls each day and it comes at the beginning of the fall competition season.... And no snow....

CMorse - I am designing courses for the 2013 Camping Weekend, and it also occurred to me that the camping weekend would be a great venue for the training camp. Labor Day is on September 2 rather than the 9th, unfortunately, so I don't know how many people will be able to stay for more than the typical 30-hours of camping weekend. Still, I think I will take the necessary steps and make it available for any interested parties. I wouldn't want to run a training camp solo, though. Anyone interested in coaching?

iirc, camping weekend is always weekend after labor day, so I don't think the position of labor day would play into things. We usually do camping weekend every year, so I'd be happy to serve as a shadow/coach, though Pawtuckaway is always a challenge even though I've run there so many times.

I'm sure I could be convinced to help with some amount of following/coaching at Pawtuckaway, though I certainly want some time to commune with the boulders on my own, too =)

I'm envisioning a Pawtuckaway map with the boulders removed.

Not wanting to discourage the idea, but so you are aware, I believe the next edition of Raid the Sanctuary (possibly with ropes) is being planned for the same weekend.

Last time I was on Pawtuckaway, a place I love, I found some of it didn't make sense. It might just have been me, but I'd vet the trainings well before sending juniors out for a learning experience...

Great job with the CT weekend, would have loved to help out.

I just wrote up a blog post on the team blog. Not sure if that's the right place, but I figure we're looking at future team members =)
