Discussion: Sydney Sprint 7 Splits

Interesting race - from the splits 5 people within a few seconds at halfway, just before going bush for the second half. Patrik Gunnarson was third but then reeled off 7 of the next 8 fastest splits to finish nearly a minute up on Andy Hill. Both Brooner and Coady had the lead at various stages but finished 3rd and 4th.
Marina Iskhakova had a great run, again particularly in the bush section, to finish well ahead of second placed woman Lisa Grant.

I discovered/remembered on Monday that I'm not very good at running through the bush, and that I am very out of practice at reading the map in forested sprints, my mind thinks 1:10000 not 1:5000 as soon as I go off road.

You should be fine in SA, no trees there.
