On Sunday morning - Swedish time - there will be a live broadcast of the chase start from Swedish Ski-O Champs in Falun. If you´re not awake at that time this will be recorded and can also be seen on SVT Play after the race.

PS. Same link applies for the live broadcast.

Oh, if you prefer XC skiing there´s also Sprint on Saturday and distance races on Sunday (Men 15 km and Women 10 km).

Thanks.
I recognize the stadium from the EOC last May.

Yes, same place - but they are busy with reconstruction of ski hills and a lot of other things for XC Skiing World Champs in 2015.

Tack för länken. Lots of following and limited O because of the chase format and only one forking. The snow was solidly hard so cutting across the fields worked well. The sound came mostly from a duck farm; at least for me.

Nothing too exciting to watch in terms of production. GPS tracking of course. They had cameras only in a few places very close to the stadium and in the stadium itself, but nothing from further out on the course. Mass start or chase start may be good in some cases, but not with such short courses as they had today.

Agreed, it was only so-so. Low point was the few minutes when the only sound was the snowmobile racing going on right in the arena. But quite nice to see some ski-O on TV, certainly better picture quality than from the Ski-O WOC in Sweden in the blizzard two winters ago. Though another camera or two would have been nice. Those guys (male and female) do move pretty fast. I assume some of our guys would have been right up there with them, or ahead of them?

I hope our ski-O team looks at this enough to observe the technique used to grab maps and get them on the map board. Something that takes some skill, and something I hope they spend some time practicing.

I quite enjoyed the woman's race. Lead changed several times.
The route choices were interesting to note.
The pole mount for the maps was interesting.
Would be good to see our "guys" there.
I love ski-O, wish I could do it more, not that I'm very good at it!

Seems like the results I saw were not the final results.

May be it's time to use for broadcast something like that:

Final results were decided by the jury. Quite sad but totally according to the rules and the skiers involved understood and accepted the "verdict". Four or five op the top ten finishers had skied through an out-of-bounds area right after the map change.

Comments (in Swedish) by one of the DSQ´d skiers and some map clips to show what happened. Unfortunately this was not shown on the live tracking so noone knew what had happened until a protest was filed. It seems like Tove was also DSQ´d in the Women´s race for the same reason, but she had already made another huge error by taking the controls in the wrong order and was out of the medals anyway.
