Saturday's Orienteering team practice will take place in Palmer Park in Colorado Springs. From the interstate take the Fillmore Street exit and turn east. Follow Fillmore across Union where it turns into N Circle. Continue along Circle to Montebello and turn east again. Just before Academy Blvd turn left into the park and meet in the parking lot for the baseball diamond. 9 am starting time and the weather forecast calls for chilly conditions so please dress accordingly.

When is the Air Force Academy going to field a team to the Intercollegiates??? West Point is getting a little cocky!

No, the Palmer Park map has not been updated since 1999 (Mikell Platt).

Yeah the map needs a lot of help. But I know that park like the back of my hand and am able to set exercises on features that I know to be accurately mapped.

We'll see if we're able to field a team at this years Intercollegiates... Unfortunately it is the exact same weekend as a huge, all academy training event that all the cadets are required to attend. Securing permission for even three cadets to attend the IC's seems to be next to impossible. We're trying though...

They just tell you that it is mandatory....

Personally, I think the event should be eliminated for various reasons... but that is an insider talking...

I enjoyed running on that map, I just thought it was another that should be updated but primarily it should have vegetation added to show speed.
