The AP feature showing multiple GPS tracks overlayed on the map is brilliant. But I just have to ask.... When will we be able to upload an orienteering map for each specific race? I realize there will be issues with adjusting tracks, but it sure would be a cool feature to have on AP!

Or QuickRoute.

Been there.
Done that.
It may be tough to integrate real o-maps with AP, but it would be fun to see.

I really like all you can do with Quickroute and struggle a bit sometimes with the RouteGadget user interface.

The new AP interface seems really easy and intuitive to use and additionally you can hop over to anyone elses log and see their comments, HR data, etc and it's all right there. Now if only the map was there... could this be something that the event organiser does when they upload the results file? Alternatively anyone else can do it and it could automatically get attached to the event so everyone can see in there logs? No reason for each person to have to do it.

Each person may have to adjust their GPS track to match the map. That is the tough part.

If everyone's using QuickRoute then you can use 2dRerun to see all the routes and watch the dots move along the O map.

I've wanted to make some sort of automatic export from AP to use 2DRerun/3DRerun as a viewer for GPX-files from AP (I have some code which works but which requires pasting some links - I'd wanted a button - also there needs to be a map already in 2DRerun for now). If Ken wants to support it, it will be no problem making it.

This sounds great - if I understand correctly, right now you could make a first version that would support something where only one person has used QR to post map + route, and then other routes that have been uploaded to AP for the same course could be imported to do all the 2D/3DRerun stuff? That already sounds useful.

Uploading maps is not something I've prioritized, because while awesome, there are issues and some excellent alternatives already mentioned. I am keeping an eye on it though, maybe for the future.

There is limited support for displaying o-maps at the moment, e.g.: my race sunday. You can do this for your own tracks using the little video icon in the lower left of the map viewer page (a video is not required). It does require an uploaded-somewhere-else QuickRoute JPG and Google Earth. The earth plugin integration is buggy, so if it doesn't seem to work, you might need to try reloading it. It also doesn't quite work with multiple tracks yet.

ken, I think I have seen your GPS track overlayed on o-maps on your log before. But that link just posted does not show me that.

Probably you don't have the Google Earth plugin installed.

The Swedish web-page for Map-and-Coach has some good functionality for uploading and watching others who have done the same. There is an English version but I don´t know if it is actually offered outside of Sweden since I haven´t read the specs.
Someone (organizer or central administrator?) has to upload and "calibrate" the map, but once that is done uploading your GPS track is really easy. This also integrates with uploaded split times.

Ken you looked at your map before you punched the start. I call for an immediate disqualification!

Interesting. How do I get my .gpx track added to the results for multiple comparison?
Edit-- Nevermind, figured it out. Very cool!
