i saw the map posted on Route Gadget. The controls have numbers only and no circle. Is that how it was on the printed map ?

The printed map had circles. If they were to be retained in the map that gets uploaded to RouteGadget, then you would get double circles when you display routes, which to me is very annoying. So I take the checkpoint circles off before I upload.
If you would like to see the circles, try selecting a team that visited many/most of the checkpoints, which for this event would be Just Dennis (3 hours bike). Then select "View routes".

Hey Vlad,
I saw a Roman Roshchin in your results list. Know anything about him? There was a Roman Roshchin in my orienteering club at the Dvoretz Pionerov in Moscow back in 1990-1992. He would be about my age. Any chance it's the same person?

Yep most likely... after finishing his Street Scramble warmup, he beelined it to the World Rogaining Championships in Czech Republic (Team 144). I think he was visiting the Bay Area on a business trip.
