Has anyone ever used an Epsom TM-T88IV as a splits printer ?
We're thinking of getting one to use with AutoDownload (as an alternative to the standard issue one from SportIdent) and just wondering what other experiences people have had.
thanks!

I use one printing from OE2003. Never tried it from AutoDownload---we don't have the SI splits printer.

It's a great splits printer. Fast. But I think you might need something "additional-in-between" to use in place of the standard issue one.

We use them with Ór and MEOS, other clubs around here use them with OE2003 and have used them for many years.

Ours was a $70 Ebay job with the USB interface and it been fine, just used it as it came.
As mentioned, its really fast.
Paper is dirt-cheap.
It seems pretty solidly built.
We run it from AC power or from DC using a DC-DC converter and a jump starter - like this.

I've used various versions of the TM-T printers, including the 88IV, with autodownload and never had a problem.

Best way to set about installing it is to get the 'EPSON Advanced Splits Printer Driver for TM series' on the Sportident UK website and tick the right box for that printer during the install process. There's a guide linked there too.

We started with the Epsom Mobilink Wireless printer but could never get it to talk to our Netbook. Returned it and got a Citizen CMP-30 printer, USB version. We needed a battery powered version for our setup and this arrangement has been fine with Or software. Just declare use of the Default printer during event setup. Batteries of both printer and netbook last about 10 hours - more than enough.

Any experience out there with Bluetooth splits printers (e.g. Bixolon SPP-R300 or Epson TM-P80)?

Hawkeye, we are looking at the TM-P60/80. Does rely on Bluetooth or Wireless connectivity.

What about the Citizen CMP-30, its the one Walk suggested above, has Serial and USB as well as Wireless and Bluetooth

Thanks Jim, USB might be better for the occasional organiser, I'll see if there are any of the CMP30s in Oz - the importers I spoke to didn't have either the Bixolon or Epson in stock and didn't seem all that enthusiastic about getting any - do you actually have one of the Epsons? If so, what did you pay for it?
