Bruce:
The incident was assessed as reckless, moderate impact and trunk contact to the tree. It initially drew a one-race suspension, but Trewin can escape with a reprimand if he lodges an early guilty plea.

I'm pleading not guilty on the grounds that the umpires (in this case Crown Casino, whose land this is) failed to fulfil their responsibilities under Rule 9.2(b) to ensure that the tree was not wearing any "bootstuds, plates/cletes or any Protective Equipment (other than Protective Equipment approved by the Controlling Body) unless the field Umpire is satisfied that the item does not
constitute a danger or increase the risk of injury to other Players competing in the Match".
