Heard a story on Diane Van Deren, an ultra-marathoner (among other remarkable things) today on NPR. She had intractable seizures from epilepsy corrected by surgery but leaving her with different pain, time and sense of direction perceptions. The link is to a very interesting and inspiring account in the February, 2011 RUNNER'S WORLD.

Also, Tony Mangan who ran thru NH in December, 2010 is now in southern Peru near the Bolivia & Chile borders (on his run around the world...). One can view these countries literally from the roadside a day at a time.
