It will be a great weekend with 10 trainings/races on 8 different sprint standard maps (with opportunities for more training if you stay a couple of days more)

This year's camp is done. Great weather (it didn't rain in Vancouver this time). 9 different maps, 10 sessions, races, chase start, otervals and dog bones!

What is the "dogbones" course?

At this point all the results are posted, except the for the last race. About half of the maps are posted.
As you can see on the map for the dogbones, there are several pairs of controls connected to each other. You can take the pairs in any order and in any direction. It's basically a score-O, but with pairs instead of single controls. How do you connect the pairs up to create the fastest route through all the controls? Forces you to read and plan ahead, since no time is given for route planning before you start.
Interesting concept, although the fact there are only 9 rather than 18 'controls' seems to me to make the route choice easier (8BA 9AB 3AB 1AB 4BA 7BA 6AB 5AB 2BA or the reverse stands out to me, though maybe I'm wrong about it being optimal).
This one wasn't too hard. I've done others that were more complicated to see.
The idea though is that there is no time for planning given. It's a mass start and time start when you turn over the map. If you want to come back first, you can't spend much more than 10 seconds to pick where to start, then it's all planning on the fly. It's a sprint. The fastest time was something like 14 minutes.

Brent had an interesting choice with 5, 6, and 7. He did 7BA, then 5BA, then 6BA (compared to 7BA 6AB 5AB as mentioned earlier). This saved him some climb, though it is longer.
