That is going to be an interesting mass start...

Yes, we're planning on two mass starts. The first for the Interscholastic & Intercollegiate kids (approx 40 teams), and a second for the adults (approx 25 teams). There were concerns from the park about the impact of a bunch of people running together, so we decided to split them up. Plus, in a race that's for the kids, we didn't want to see Magnus be the first across the line! ;-)

Legs 1 and 3 also have forking, so that'll help split up the teams a bit. Can't be any crazier than the mass start motala at Sprint Camp, can it?

Also, for as many people that are relaying, it's only about 50% of the registrants, so it could have been a lot bigger! Still, we'll have more relay runners than the 2011 and 2010 US Relay Champs combined.

Are teams posted anywhere?

Pink Socks:
Not yet. We've got 195 people registered for the sprint relay race (which is 65 teams' worth). Some of them gave us teams within their registrations, some of them are emailing them in, and some asked us to form the teams for them. Registration just closed last night, so we're plowing through a lot of IS & IC data, plus building assignments at the Athletes' Village, etc, etc.

We have 150 people signed up for the mixer relay on Friday night. Which, obviously, isn't going to have posted teams!
