It is January 16 and the 2006 USOF Official Rankings have been posted
here. I can't recall them ever being available so promptly. Thanks Sandy, Valerie and Kent, and all other results people who contributed to this timely effort.
Well, this is fantastic work and all, but I didn't see anything on the page about how much we have to bribe said miracle workers for a small boost in pointages. An augmentation, as it were.
Oops, did I write that in public?
I'm just a figurehead; Kent and Valerie did all the work.
Stay tuned: we should be unveiling the new site some time in the next month.
Thanks, Sandy, Valerie, and Kent! It is so nice to have professional-looking, timely rankings for US orienteering!
Looking at the actual rankings themselves, it's a bit sad that only 7 (i think) of the top 20 ranked blue runners are under 30... On the other hand, CSU has 5 of the top 17. Pretty cool. :) On the other hand, on the women's side, 7 of the top 10 are under 30. Looks much better for the future! (Oh yeah, and 3 of top 10 from CSU).
There are actually only six under thirty, and of those, two turn 29 in 2007. (Your statement would have been correct as of 12/31/06.)
Cristina--did you mean a "surge?"
She meant what she said. Cristina is macho. And she doesn't cry.
Her voice doesn't have a defensive quaver in it either, when she's being grilled.
Get Steve Jobs to ban her from all things Mac and call her nasty names. I bet that would bring her to tears.
Tom, you've hit a little too close to the truth there.
