All,

If you have not heard by now a new sanctioned orienteering club has formed in the Richmond, VA (USA) area!

The Central Virginia Orienteering Club has formed with 6 members and a large Meet-up contingent. Congratulations to president Kristi Orcutt for her leadership. Thanks also to Tim Gilbert for his years of service to orienteering in the Richmond area.

Thanks also to QOC and President Jon Torrance for their support in this initiative.

Have a good week.

Jon Torrance is president of QOC?? But... but... he belongs to Ottawa!
Speaking of Central VA is the James River OC still putting on meets in the Williamsburg area?

And, according to Jon's self-entered registration for the GAOC event, he has a new name as well: Jon Torranced.

Sadly, James River OC hasn't put on a meet recently.

Hope "central Virginia" includes the beautiful countryside 70 miles to the NW of Richmond....Charlottesville! The area between there and the Blue Ridge is sometimes referred to as the Devil's Playground for good reason.

Hmmm. I wonder if Fork Union will switch allegiance to CVOC...
