I am setting up training on Surebridge map this Saturday and Sunday: middle course (~30min, 4 km) with controls on Saturday, and long (~90min, 10km) with streamers on Sunday.
If you would like to participate - let me know, so I will print maps for you. Also, if you would like to extend training on Saturday or Monday - contact me as well @ gregbalter1963 at gmail.com. We can set-up some fun race format event - chase start on Monday.Saturday's and Sunday's training will start around 11 AM. I will post locations later this week.

I'm up for Saturday for sure, but fam would be less pleased if I skip out on Christmas day... maybe I can run the long Monday instead? Could remove streamers meanwhile.

I'm also thinking of training Harriman either Thurs or Fri as I'm at home, anyone up for something even less formal those days let me know!

DarthBalter:
Yes, AliC, streamers will stay and maps are printed, you may as well take down the streamers, if you feel like that.

Christmas Eve O, fairly poignant! Years ago, Beth & I met a woman who decorated a solitary tree every Christmas somewhere in Harriman. Keep your eye out for it.

It is a last minute event, we usually go skiing in Lake Placid :)

Attention: Change of locations - since route 106 is closed due to Irene water damage, both days we gather at Fisherman's parking lot: 1 km NE from Kanawauke Circle along Seven Lakes Drive. Time still the same ~ 11 AM Start

The Kanawaukee lot is inaccessible?
Dec 23, 2011 2:45 AM #
DarthBalter:
106 road is closed from the circle to root 17

From the Kanawaukee circle to the Kanawaukee lot is about 500m along 106, and had been reconstructed within the past few years. WTF happened to it??

AliC:
Cool, see ya there tomorrow!

Bernard:
Waters from Irene literally picked up the road and aimed it right into the lake.

GuyO:
Sounds like 106 was reconstructed badly. After all, it crosses and hugs lakes, not rivers.

Then again, with minimal to non-existent truck traffic, you can usually get away with less beefy pavement. Usually.

Ah, whaddya you know about road construction anyway, Guy? (Oh, wait, you know a lot about it...)
