This was my first event (and not last, I hope) in Ohio. I had a lot of fun despite the rain. Well mapped terrain and an excellent red course, if you ask me. #19 might have been slightly misplaced, (too high up), but not so much that it really should have affected anyone. The route choice from #19 to finish was pretty interesting, by the way, especially given the water level in the creek. I ended up balancing on the fallen tree - which was obviously not the best option. Took me probably a minute and a half or so to cross the creek that way, instead of the 10-15 seconds or so it took me to cross the creek running in the water after #16.
I first considered going around, but it was too dark to read the map, so I couldn't make out the maze of trails. I decided to pretty much follow the red line, which would have meant crossing 4 streams, but when I got to the first stream, there was so much flood debris in that area, I ended up going upstream and crossing at the widest part. (I couldn't get any wetter).
