Could someone please save me hours of trawling through internet forums and confirm my suspicion that OCAD will not run on Android?
I've been told by a reliable source that OCAD will run on Windows tablets.
OK. To clarify this query...
The query is for a friend who is even less computer savvy than I am (if that is possible). Someone bought him a Samsung Galaxy tablet.
Computers are like cars to me. I can turn them on and make them do certain things (with lots of step by step instructions) but the minute they break down I'm cactus.
It's a miracle that I know what a tablet is in this context (and not something you swallow)
I had to look up Android on Wikipedia to find out what that was. Surprise - it's not some sort of human/robot thingie
So.... my recent hurried reading suggests that Android and Windows OS are different incompatible things but I expect to be corrected.
No, you are correct - software written for Windows won't run on Android, and vice versa.
An Andriod version of momap is reportedly being developed:

An Android version of ArcGIS is now availible.
I've just tried Momap on Android, and it looks pretty good, was able to load and edit a 20 MB Ocad-10 file on a nexus 10 just fine, and it shows a GPS dot referenced etc.
Except it is about $750 and not in the Play Store. I mean I can almost buy two ipad minis and have ghettocad for free for that price and bother.
open orienteering mapper is planed to work on android. its open source, for free. the more you support it, the earlier will exist the android version.

Is there an ETA for the Android version? That would super awesome.
