It is time to make nominations for the 2nd Annual Orienteering Awards. Nominations will close by Thanksgiving. Make a nomination today with supporting comments before you forget.
Last year, the winner of the Orienteering Award was Samantha Saeger. The Junior Orienteer of the Year was awarded to Hannah Burgess. The Comet of the Year was awarded to Alison Crocker and the Orienteering Team of the Year was awarded Team USA at the North American Orienteering Championships
Awards are given for the best orienteer of the year based on national and international events, the best junior USA orienteer no older than 20 in 2010, based on results at national and international events, the Comet of the Year which is awarded to the most improved USA orienteer in 2010, based on results at national and international events and the Orienteering Team of the Year which is awarded to the best USA national or club orienteering team in 2010, based on results at national and international events.
Nominations for these awards should be forwarded to Peter Goodwin, the Awards Committee Chair, at: pgwolfe66@gmail.com

Most of the places that mention 2010 above should read

People need to nominate people. If someone is not nominated, they will not get the award. I would love to have dozens of emails with nominations. Standing on the sidelines will not help the process. Who should be the orienteer of the year, the junior orienteer of the year, the comet of the year and the team of the year? Please send nominations to pgwolfe66@gmail.com

Nominations are coming in for the Orienteering Awards. Nominations will close the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Make a nomination and supporting comments for any or all of the awards. (Orienteer of the Year, Junior Orienteer of the Year, Comet of the Year and Team of the Year.) Send nominations to pgwolfe66@gmail.com. I am the chair of the committee who will make the decisions. The committee consists of Linda Kohn, Peter Gagarin, Patrick Nuss, Boris Granovskiy and myself.

Nominations for Orienteering Awards will end next Wednesday. While you may think that someone else will nominate your person or team, don't assume. There are people or teams out there who could win if they were nominated but it won't happen without you.
