I see, "4-point: Team total of at least 4 points. Sanctioned Championship Class. Legs: Orange, Green, Red, Blue". Are these courses listed in the order of the legs? E.g. is Orange the mass-start 1st leg for the 4-point team?
I ask, because all relay-classes appear to list the courses from easy-to-hard, so maybe that's the sort order, not the leg # ? Or perhaps easy-to-hard is the leg # order as well.
Please note I'm not asking for a change in plans - just a clarification on what those plans are so we can plan our relay team order, strategies, etc...
Also need clarification on which course "solos" will be running.
Yes, legs go "easiest" to "hardest" as listed (although, advanced courses differ only in length, not technical difficulty). Solo's will be running red (this is stated on the website). The thought there being that, since it's an unranked credit day, anybody who wants to go shorter can simply drop a few controls without fear of killing their ranking.
WEATHER:Though cold & rain postponed World Series game in STL, the important forecast is:
Friday-Sunday: Dry, Sunny, Cool: High 60, Low 40.
How's the chigger forecast?
Chiggers were rained out as well?
In past month, chiggers have varied from 'very few' to 'none'. This cold and rain should dissuade the holdouts. No ticks or mosquitoes recently.
Due to varied amounts of blackberry and multi-flora rose, protected legs for Night O' and Middle are a MUST; arms - up to you. (Not sure about Sprint.) Luckily it is cool enough for protection.
Fixed. Of course, as these are relay legs, the Red distance is closer to normal Green anyway, so call it either, but the map will say "Red".
Looks like OCIN got a more suitable 4th runner, so I'm now looking for an unofficial team or running solo. Ideally, I'd think, the number of solo runners should be between zero and 3. But I'm sure that's unlikely...
Looks like
start times have been posted for registered runners. Not sure if they are final though since they don't all conform to a 24 hour time system.
Ok, here's how to calculate the start times listed as a floating point number:
* Multiply decimal number by 24.
* The whole number is the start hour.
* Multiply the decimals by 60 to get the start minute:
Example:
0.3013889 * 24 = 7.2333336
0.2333336 * 60 = 14.000016
Hence start time = 7:14
I would also be interested in a pickup team if there is one forming.
Ok, here's how to calculate the start times listed as a floating point number:
Or paste the number into a spreadsheet and format it as a time value?
