Please check it out for a potential addition to the A-meet weekend.

I like the dinner idea, but a substantial discount for juniors would probably influence whether I attend.

Have you folks looked into sanctioning the Friday Sprint? Having 2 ranked "A" races will help bring out more of those people who are not into Night and Relay.

By the way, can you post a list of registered entrants? Since you're not using O-signup, this isn't happening automatically.

Not much to post yet. We will put them up when we get a few more entered. The problem with sanctioning the sprint is that we'd have to convert the map to ISSOM and I don't know when I'd slide that task in.

ISSOM is not a requirement for sanctioning, though it is clearly preferred for urban environments. (There are differing opinions on ISSOM for forest environments.) You never asked sanctioning about the sprint, so nobody ever had a chance to express an opinion on the subject.

Saturday dinner update on the FB page. A discount for juniors would be a possibility.

The sprint was never intended as anything other than a fun thing to do on Friday afternoon that would also allow people to see a piece of the night/middle map. We knew when we put this meet together we were appealing to niche markets. I hope we get a good sized field, but I'm not going to stretch our manpower so thin we compromise quality just to get a few extra entries.

As for the ISSOM "requirement", yes I know you don't have to provide it, but I'm not comfortable presenting a nationally sanctioned race with a map that doesn't adhere to the standards for the disciplinem, even if there is debate as to the applicability of such standards.

ebuckley's reasoning is unassailable.

Perhaps the Friday sprint will be "barebones" -- more so than AZ's Barebones. ;-)

Now that I think about it, the sprint is sort of a model event for the Night-O Champs -- without the darkness, of course. :-D
