Dear Sprint Camp Participants,

The 2012 Sprint Camp organizers are trying to come to a decision regarding the location of the 2012 event. Should it be in Victoria or stay in Vancouver? There are some pros and cons of each location. Please help get us an idea how to proceed! Voice your opinion through this very simple survey:

Surveyed!

I'll pretty much go anywhere for sprint camp. Even on crutches.

Pi and others: how's your level of support on the ground in Vic? Or will it be the GVOC usual suspect working the whole time?

How about Seattle?

Seattle would be a great venue for it, and as someone who lives here and attends the Sprint Camp every year, I'd love to be able to "give back" to GVOC and host one here.

That said, 2012 won't work for us, as we'll be in the thick of things with finishing up our local school league series, and with IS & IC champs in April.

Also, while we have some great sprint venues.... unfortunately we don't have any of them in ISSOM. Looking in the north part of Seattle, we have existing maps of University of Washington, Green Lake Park, Woodland Park, Magnuson Park, and North Seattle Community College, which would be a good start. Extending a bit further out, we have maps Volunteer/Interlaken Park, Hamlin Park, Shoreview Park, and Luther Burbank Park.

And there are tons of other sprint areas just waiting to be mapped. I really, really, really want to see a sprint map of Seattle Center (Space Needle, Experience Music Project, etc, etc).

What makes the Sprint Camp an amazing success is that they have amazing sprint mappers (with time to map) within the club, something that Seattle doesn't have at the moment.

This might be a fun summer project. If the Seattle folks could get venue permissions, different mappers could come for a week at a time and make maps.

Llike the San Fran sprint festivals that are happening (Get Lost!! this November) Seatlle would be a nice town for one too.

September 2012?
