Discussion: Rogaining Deadlines Near

Deadlines are getting near for a couple of Rogaines that are coming up in the next few weeks. I have recently registered for the Dakota Rogaining Championships (Custer State Park, August 20-21) and was noticing that there is a limit on the number of teams allowed by the park, so it might be a good idea to get your entry in quickly if you want to get one of those last 15 slots. And I was surprised when registering for the North American Rogaining Championships (hosted by the Sage Orienteering and Rogaining Club near Merritt, BC on September 10-11) to see very few teams registered so far. This could be just because people are waiting until the last minute before entry fees go up after August 15, but also perhaps because they just haven't looked at the rogaining calendar in the last few months to see what was available. There are also 24-hour rogaines available in New York, Washington, and California in the next few months. Lots of rogaining opportunities this year, but for some reason all compressed into a three or four month window!
