At the WMOC Sprint Event in Pecs, Hungary, Sharon Crawford from RMOC nabbed a close 2nd in W65 just 6 seconds from the gold medal.
Other Americans of note were Natalia Deconescu CAOC 21st in W55 and Tapio Karras, BAOC 63rd in M50.
Congratulations, Sharon! :)
...Tapio Karras, BAOC 63rd in M50
...but beaten by Tom Hollowell in 28th place (competing for his Swedish club).
Congratulation, Sharon und weiterhin viel Erfolg
Great news, way to represent!
Sharon repeats history, again and again (through the ages) in a most impressive manner!
Very well done Natalia! 21st place in one of the most competitive female classes is an excellent result, especially for someone who has trained only on flat, flat Chicago terrain!
Sharon and Natalia both well placed after LQ1.
Sharon was first in her flight after two days of qualifying for the Long course final. Didn't have a chance to see Nalalia's result but was told she placed high.
The Long finals are Friday.
Thanks for the update and best wishes to all in the finals - some of us are living vicariously through the updates on AP :-)
Way to go Sharon and Tapio!
Natalia was 2nd in her flight after the 2 day qualification.
Excellent job Sharon! See you in August.
Great to see a fellow Trail-O aficionado still tearing it up off the trails!
regardless where Natalia trains , she knows orienteering.. quite well i would say
