I'm hoping many of you have just forgotten, or never knew about, the Blue Hills Traverse this coming Sunday. Looks like a nice day for running, and Dean has set a great course across the hills.
We still have lots of shirts, so let me know via email if you would like to run, I'll waive the late fee to Attackpointers, so the entry will still be $16.

I am curious as to why relatively few people are running the Traverse this year.

Especially given the cool T shirt this year.

I almost got a marathoner friend of mine to come along, but he has a roof in the middle of repairs, and hopes to finish the job before the snows come.

Last month I paid a contractor to replace my roof, enabling me to take on the Blue Hills tomorrow. Worth the price.

"why relatively few people"

I have to suspect that it has a lot to do with the fact that the announcement for the event took place a scant 15 days before it was scheduled to occur.

Some notes --

13.3 kilometers.

The assembly area is NOT Houghton's Pond, but the north Trailside Museum parking area. The finish is near the lot.

There will be a carpool to the start area. You should allow half an hour to drive there.

So where the announcement says, "Race instructions given at 10:40, mass start at 11am," it was leading me to lots of faulty speculation regarding an absence of carpooling and which way the course might go.

Each year I enjoy the new course, recognizing parts that are familiar from earlier Traverses.
