In case people haven't seen this yet, the World of O calendar seems to be the most complete international O calendar I have ever seen:

Thanks Boris. It allowed me to find what I want for next summer: an event where the event organization will be so top-class, they're even drawing the contour lines on the ground for you: Sørlandsgaloppen.

Off topic, about Sørlandsgaloppen - good to see thy are back in 6 race format. I have run it almost ten times, and I was planning to go there last summer, but there was one training day(?), one city sprint and only true 4 races (2 long, 2 middle). I am a fan of Sørlandsgaloppen and i hated this new training day format. So we choosed Nordvestgaloppen - just to show we don't like how they mess with my favourite O week.

This one's also excellent for international events... even has January events (Ultimax 5 day anyone?) .

It does however have a lot of UK "noise" also.

they both list the Shamrock Oringen!!! which means I don't feel obliged to write a post with no point other than to say Shamrock Oringen a couple of times, nor to mention that it's on in
Kilcrohane
on the first weekend of June.

Hey Neil, are there any training opportunities around the time of the Shamrock Oringen that can make it into a longer-than-just-a-weekend trip? I am seriously considering it...

Neil, Is there a Shamrock Oringen in 2008 in early June as well? I'll be in Tullamore for a conference and a game of hurley at that time.

mike, keep the hurley for after orienteering, there mightn't be much left of you.

shamrock Oringen seems to be becoming biennial, but it may reappear in 2008 just to prove me wrong. there was also talk of a 5-day in donegal and some other ideas, have to wait a while to see what comes of it...

boris, there should be a whole bunch of orienteers around the week leading up to shamrock, so i think some sort of a training camp (perhaps informal) might happen.
in the week after, who knows... all is possible.

There's pretty cheap accommodation (renting houses), and there'll be music and guinness a-plenty
