all seemed to have REALLY quick first splits.

Me, Simmo, Ken B, Terry Bluett, Peter Hamilton, Jim Mann ...

Something weird happen with the clock?

Seems pretty obvious that the times were 35 seconds long for early starters and 25 seconds short for late starters so the late starters must have gone a minute early.
