Since there is no organized childcare during Friday's sprint, I'm trying to figure out the best way to make sure our son is okay while we race. Should I 1) hope there are people hanging around who are willing to watch Max for 20 minutes 2) just go run and assume Max won't wander off and will be okay or 3) beg Barb to change our start times (currently Nadim & I are 3 min apart) so we can watch him ourselves? Obviously the latter would have been the thing to do in the first place but I didn't do that. What are other people in our situation -- if there are any -- doing?

Unfortunately because course#3 and #4 is a WRE we are not permitted to assign start times. It is a 100% random start draw. The start and finish are very close together (< 50m) and there will be a lot of people watching and warming up, cooling down so I think the best would be to find a friend for those 20 minutes.

I wouldn't expect you'll have any trouble finding people to hang out with a swell kid like Max. In fact, since Nancy and I have start times that are 40 minutes apart, I suspect one or both of us could handle it.

Thanks, that'd be great. I figured there will be a lot of people around who might be willing, but I didn't want to assume that and end up scrambling.

Peggy...can you remind me about this when you arrive on Friday. I will see if we can work something out. -Nina
