Oystein Kvaal Osterbo had a comfortable win in the latest Sydney Sprint Series at Macquarie University. The Norwegian World Champs medallist won 15 of 16 legs to finish a minute and a half ahead of promising Australian Junior Newcastle's Josh Blatchford. The NSW Stinger's orienteering team packed well in 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th ahead of a pack from the BigFoot club. Ian Meyer (3rd) would have challenged for second but for a small mistake at no. 8, losing 15 seconds.
Norwegian international Elise Egseth was the best woman in 4th place overall, finishing well clear of Australian international Tracy Marsh, with Swedish Junior Malin Andersson in 3rd.
A big field of 78 runners turned out and were treated to a world class course by Ron Junghans on a world class map.
