RWorner:
The Rochester Orienteering Club will be hosting the 2011 OUSA Convention from July 31-August 5. It will be part of the Canal Cities Orienteering Festival Week and will include "A" meets in Syracuse on 7/30/31 (possible US Classic Champs) and Buffalo 8/6/7 (S,M,L)

Convention Week will have something for everybody with a "special" emphasis on our Orienteering families.
Mornings will be for workshops and afternoons will offer training sessions on four different maps. Workshops and programs so far include Map Making, Coaching Certification, O in the Schools, Junior Training Camp, Youth Camp and Adult Skills Training with more to come. In addition to daily training opportunities we plan to offer two sprints, trail O, night O, and canoe O. Social events planned include a cookout, games night, swimming, and a Junior Team Ice Cream Social.

We will offer a variety of hotel choices and camping. The Convention will take place at a local private school that has a swimming pool and many other great facilities.

Complete details and registration will be on the Canal Cities Orienteering Festival website which will be available early next year.

Anyone interested in offering a workshop or putting on a special event should contact Rick Worner at wornerkohn@aol.com

Sadly these events don't seem to appear on the AP calendar, which is the only calendar I have come to know how to mark...

Hopefully they will appear soon under the banner of Canal Cities Orienteering Festival. Look for something in January.
