Time is running out to enter the Buffalo Orienteering Club’s two events at Niagara Falls on Tuesday October 12. The registration deadline is 11:59 PM on Monday the 4th of October.

There are still slots available in both the afternoon sprint and the night sprint. We are especially looking for more entrants for the night sprint. As night events go, this one is about as user-friendly and as spectacular as you can get. There are many street lights on Goat Island and in most areas there is enough ambient light to navigate by. That being said, it is still recommended to bring along a flashlight or headlamp.

Complete information is on the event website.

We hope to see you there.

Since you have so few entrants, how about allowing everyone to sprint twice?

Good idea Mike. We have decided to allow anyone who entered the afternoon event to do the night event as a "fun run" for free. Three conditions: You'll have to reuse your map (the course is the same), you won't be eligible for awards (of course), and you'll start after everyone else. Just let us know your intentions when you show up to get your packet for the afternoon event.

Anyone who registered for both already and paid for both will get a refund.

Also, although the website registration is officially closed, we will be able to accomodate a certain number of "walk-ups" for the night event at the standard entry fee. Please email the registrar (ghyatt (at) hyatts.com) if you intend to take advantage of this so we have a map for you. (This only applies to those who aren't already participating in the afternoon event.)

Wow, great idea, Mike, and thanks to BFLO for "going with the flow."

"Going with the flow" might not be such good advice on a course set so close to the falls...
