Magnus, Congrats to you and the rest of GVOC for putting on a great event. Interesting terrain + good maps and courses. Enjoyed it very much.

Wow - looks like really cool terrain - at least on the maps. Hope the runnability/visibility is nice too. May finally have to bite the bullet and get out to Whistler one of these days....

The Long terrain looks outstanding. I'm really sorry I could not come.

The long terrain was really good. Tough physically - lots of up and down, cliffs, etc. plus rocky ground - though there were sections of nice running too. Good contour detail, swamps you could run through, good visibility. Overall, very Scandinavian terrain.

I was not at the BC Champs but have run and trained at Brandywine many times. (I believe it was first used in 1980) Besides the orienteering angle, it is simply an extremely beauitiful area with the pines, rock knolls, the ponds and marshes etc. Awesome waterfall just at the corner of the map in the extreme south west.

How about some photos Magnus?

Brian, i see that your route to #3 on the long goes through a lake. Were they dry or are you just insane?

I vote for insane

I was too busy to take photographs myself. Some others did, though, but haven't heard back.

Most of the lakes and ponds were dry-ish. It is quite a different experience orienteering there in the spring.

Is Louise getting bow-legged?
I think she needs orthotics...

I am pretty sure I am not bowlegged, if anything I tend to knock knees (that pic is at a funny angle).
The orthotics thing might be true though, I have always thought they might help :). I seem to have strained my hamstring, so I am off to complain to the physio again...
Oh and the pics are from lost lake, not brandiwine ;)

I knew I would get your attention ;-)
I was just kidding, although you do look like you just got off a horse - or maybe a moose?

Figured you were kidding, but decided to take the bait!
Yeah, I do look a bit odd. It was uneven ground, and I might be changing direction or something.

That's how everyone walks here in Alberta, but the tight jeans might have something to do with it. And the horses.

I knew you would love Edmonton Nev
