Discussion: Registration and lodging/meals deadlines

A quick reminder that the regular fees for the Golden Leaf Orienteering Fest end this Friday (September 10th). That is also the dropdead deadline for booking the lodging and meal plan and dinner. Check out the web site for details and GHO Green by driving to the race on Saturday morning and then leave the car in the parking lot until the last race on Canadian Thanksgiving Monday.

GLOF kicks off a great week of orienteering in Hamilton and upstate NY. The week concludes with US Classic Champs.

And now for an exclusive AP GLOF sneak peek (or is that peak).

Overheard today as the final checkpoint locations for GLOF 10.10.10 were vetted and finalized..."Hey don't we always say that southern Ontario is too thick to orienteer in the summer...cause it is still summer and these Dundas Valley woods are fantastically open".

Yup, sometimes clubs look far and away for sweet terrain but at GLOF it is right in our backyard. The Dundas Valley is right within Hamilton city limits and with falls colours to be close to their peak making the woods even faster on race. Now the word peak is an important one because this is no flat GLOF like we had in 2006. This GLOF is hilly with several different terrain types. We hope to see you in 4 weeks.
