My splits here look like I was just slow, but my every-5th-control splits taking hides a few 2-4 minute bobbles - but probably only about 10-12 minutes overall.
Dunking my head in the stream for a minute (with Mihai) on the way out of 10 felt great and I was out of sight ahead of him (I think) by 11 & 12. Then a stupid (extra rocks) route to 13 let Mihai catch up and he could run away up to 14 (while I was dead hot again.) I probably should have dunked my head in the stream by 13 again, but I didn't think of it.

I am impressed that any of you finished. When I declared that this would be a "championship" I wanted to make the winners earn their prizes. I apologize for the lack of water. We never get 32 runners on red and blue in August, let alone with 95 degree heat. Keep running folks, we amatures applaud all of you.
