Finally? The COCs have actually been in Ontario quite often over the years. I believe Ontario clubs have hosted the COC's 7 or 8 times between 1975 and 1999.

This millennium the COCs have only been in Ontario once I believe (2006). So that wasn't that long ago but I can understand why people would want to forget about that year. ;-)

Nevertheless over the last 35+ years the COC have been in Ontario once every 4 years or so.

Anyway, I am also looking forward to this year's COCs because of the different type of terrain than what we are used to in Ottawa. I think there is great potential for this Canadian Shield terrain in Ontario so I'm excited.

And of course we won't have to wait long again for a COCs in Ontario with Toronto OC hosting in 2012.

Has a location and time of year been chosen for the TOC 2012 COCs?

hammer,
Agree that COC 2006 was not the event you can call National event!
It is in the past, so we will leave it there!

As for COC12, everything is ready! We can host it in a month if we need! :)
Maps are done last year and owner of the land is agreed to organize COCs there.
We just looking for the sponsors :)

It is a great statistic to see COC every 4 years in Ontario, but for such big province, we better see it more often! TOC might host one more time in COC15!
Together with PAN Games ;) So, It is a geat improvement for Orienteering in Ontario!!!
