There's a Holiday Inn express in Milton that seems ok. Has anyone heard of other recommendations, deals, or an event HQ hotel? I can't find anything on the event website.

Toronto airport is not far and hotels there are reliably Pricelineable at the last minute. Particularly at Thanksgiving (who wants to stay at an airport over Thanksgiving?).

I tried Hotwire, and they had a 4-star hotel listed at the airport for $53/night. I opted for a 3-star in Oakville for the same price, because the airport was too close to downtown Toronto traffic-wise. It turned out to be the Park Plaza.

Staying away from the airport is a wise decision, even on weekends.

Our race HQ will be at Rocky Ridge Ranch - site of the middle and long champs. Cabins with meal plan are available. We have just negotiated a price and details will be available by the weekend. Rudimentary but cheap and right where all the action will be on Saturday and Sunday.

You can also look for hotels in north Mississauga (half way between Toronto airport and Milton), Burlington and Guelph.

Hamilton International Airport has Air Canada flights from eastern Canada and West Jet from the west.

I have asked a member in Milton to e-mail me a list of other accomodations to be posted on the website very soon. I'll keep you updated.

GHO has an annual race called the wine-O (normally hosted in the Niagara wine region) which we have linked up with the NAOC to give you 4 days of O in 4 days. The race format this year is what we call O-Cross (aka farsta, one-person relay). Mass start with loops. Lots of door prizes which are bottles of Niagara wines. The area is small but it is an great map and great terrain. Brand new - never used for orienteering before. We almost put the middle distance on this map sooooo yeah it is worth staying for.
