Thanks everyone for all the thought and ideas regarding the two recent Barebones-related threads. They've really shown how AttackPoint can be a supremely useful forum for tapping into the common wisdom to solve problems both small (how to describe the edge of a flower bed) and a bit bigger bigger (how to handle too-many-controls).
Very creative. Very informed. Very helpful.
AttackPoint at its very best.
Thanks for the help.
This is an appropriate topic...for several years I too have felt fortunate for A/P, because it:
1. Motivates me to train and compete, into my later years
2. Allows me to lurk in others' lives, who often have surprisingly similar thoughts and interests
3. Gives me a better appreciation of orienteers I've met only briefly
4. Provides an exciting forum to express some ideas
5. Inspires a bit of humility when appropriately flamed.
I'm a member of Facebook, and several other social-networking sites. But they just don't have the personality, passion and participation that I find here.
Thanks Ken and everyone else, for making A/P what it is...
