The Sprint Qualification and Finals were held today, and Sandra Zurcher placed 15th in her Qual heat, putting her in the A Final. Pavlina and Viktoria Brautigam are also competing for the U.S., and both placed 23rd in each of their Qual heats. They raced in the B Final.

The Swiss men dominated in the Final, taking 6 of the top 8 spots. Marc Lauenstein placed 8th, just 49 seconds behind the winner, Fabian Hertner, also of Switzerland. There are no U.S. competitors on the Men's side.

Tomorrow is the Long Qualification. You can follow along with results at EOC 2010

I would also like to congratulate the legendary Anders Tiltnes (yes, the one who caught 7 minutes to the leader on the 5th leg in 10Mila, with the best leg time. what up.) for the great performance of placing 16th in the finals, 1:04 behind the winner: An international breakthrough (when it comes to offical results)! This makes him the norwegians´ best runner in sprint distance; will this be a WOC-debut in august?
