Greg: If you are trying to emulate the effect of USOF Rankings, go for time limit + 20 minutes for the total run, i.e. adjust your split time for Control 18 so that the total time is 3 hours 20. I hear the (time limit + 20) rule is about to be changed to just not take DNFs into effect, so Ken could probably come up with a checkbox that says "DNF" so that splits could still be entered but the race, not taken into the rankings calculation for the specific individual.

Greg, agreed: please fix the control 18 split since it's inflating the ranking points for everyone else.

Greg's DNF will indeed inflate the points for everyone else in USOF rankings, just as if his time for the day were 3:20:00. The inflation will be proportionately smaller, since everyone's result will be in the calculation, not just that of the few self-selected people.
