The 10km loop that will be used in the final two cross country races - Mens 50km and Women's 30km - has 349m of climb.

So the men will climb 1,750m
And the women will climb 1,050m

For comparison, in the longest alpine race (the "downhill")
the men drop 1,100m
and the women drop 800m

but the alpine track is only about 3 - 4 kilometers long...

That´s crazy! cant imagine skiing on an almost 4% climb course.

Its a loop, so they drop as much as they climb. If it is a 50/50 split then the climb is over 5km = 7%.
