With 90 teams of 2 already registered for the Salomon Dontgetlost.ca Snowshoe Raid not only have we broken our participation record set year to be eastern Canada's largest snowshoe race but we are only 15-20 teams away from likely becoming THE largest snowshoe race in Canada!
Check out these important updates:
Race director Bob Miller tested the course this week and reported, "Fun day! Snow conditions were really nice - 10 cm of new snow on top of a hard-ish crust. I was glad to have snowshoes. We'll have about 25 checkpoints, including a Matrix section where teams will have the option to split up and visit checkpoints separately. Part of the map goes into a new area that has never been used for the Snowshoe Raid. There is some good climbing that will make the racers' quads burn! It's going to be challenging. I doubt that any team can get all the controls in 3 hours."
"The new host site is great - a golf clubhouse perched on a hill overlooking some fairways where spectators will be able to get terrific photos of the race start. We are excited to introduce SportIdent electronic timing to the event which will make it a breeze to tabulate results for the large number of teams and allow us to hold the award ceremony sooner."
Then on Friday Patrick Goeres, North America's top orienteer, tested the race course and had this to say "Lots of hills, lots of climb, and very well designed course by Bob".

Many of you have planned to spend a night or two at Horseshoe Resort with friends or family, and we're thrilled that Horseshoe has just offered us a discount rate of $99/night for Snowshoe Raid participants.
