I am appreciative every time I go to Anza Borrego. It's a very special place to orienteer. I enjoyed the courses, especially day 2's blue. Thanks to Bill Gookin and the SDO crew for providing a nice treat in the desert sun... before it turned to rain? I don't know what happened Monday.
The unsung heroes of almost every meet that Bill puts on are Donna and Edwin Gookin, Stan Watson, Karen Dennis and David Irving. I'm sure there were a lot more folks involved in the weekend than the above, but the club would not exist without those five.
Thanks to Bill and crew for putting together another fun desert fest.
Many thanks to the unsung heroes. May SDO find more to join them to help keep the A-B tradition alive.
This was such a special treat! To orienteer in the desert was so much fun...once I figured out the map/terrain. Thanks to everybody from SDO.
I have orienteered in the SDO area several times and always enjoyed the experience. Their map of UCSD is awesome! Their mountain terrain rivals anything on the other side of the Rockies. Night orienteering in the desert above Palm Desert CA? Now that's an experience you will never forget.
I've never been able to get to the A-B meet but 'maybe next year'.
On another thread someone noted that no one from SDO monitors Attack Point. So -o-o please make sure to send your thanks directly to SDO. I know from my experience that your recognition of their efforts will be appreciated.
