...or "poison" as some in the FCN area call it... :-)

Sorry you have to deal with this! I managed to avoid outbreaks from FCN, though I had a couple spots earlier in the season from other sources. Hope it clears up soon!

Tech-Nu or Lava soap are recommended for scrubbing the skin before the oil gets a chance to dig in...

Well, it is obvious from the straight line of it where my shorts end that I got it in the parking lot. The Franks initially had their van parked near the trail where the start came out to the road. I commented that the area was full of it, and I think I brushed up to it there.
A lash of it on the arm, and a baseball size area on the leg. I figured it could have been a lot worse for this time of year, so I am happy it is not more.
I do have Lava soap in the house. Will have to remember it for the next time.

Someone also told me that Dawn dishwashing liquid was a good thing to wash with after contact. I have used it to wash my arms and hands after a lot of yard work, but I can't really attest to it's effectiveness, since I suspect that I may not be susceptible to poison ivy. I haven't had a problem, and I find it hard to believe that I haven't touched it in 5 years of getting into and falling into a lot of vegetation while orienteering. Hope it clears up for you fast, Valerie.
