Does anyone know why you have to be a full time student to race in intercollegiates yet to qualify for WUOC you only need to be taking classes pursuing a degree? If intercollegiates are used to select the team for WUOC shouldn't the rules be the same?

Apparently i can also qualify for WUOC but i can't race in the intercollegiates. I can qualify for WUOC because by the spring i should be in rolled in college just not have taken any classes yet.

Speaking of the WUOC team, who is the contact person coordinating the entry process?

I think Linda Kohn is dealing with the WUOC, bless her heart!

Yep it is Linda, or she is who i have talked to about it. Thank you to her for all she has done already and will do!

Anyone can race in the Intercollegiates. The full-time student requirement is to be eligible for an award.

sfleming:
But why does the requirement exsist for an award or to make a team?

Tundra/Desert:
U.S. Intercollegiate award eligibility, as much as I know, was written by USOF to be consistent, if possible, with NCAA rules in other collegiate sports. WUOC eligibility rules are from FISU, the organization that oversees WUOC (it is not the IOF).

Thanks for directing me towards Linda. Besides sfleming's question on the F/T student status for the IC, I have received the following questions from a potential team member. What is the answer on the citizenship eligibility question? Does he/she book tickets to NC for the BOK event, or is there no chance of representing the US based on the passport status?

I am a college student. I am interested in trying out for the US WUOC 2010 team, but I cannot find any contact information anywhere on the USOF or teams' websites, and you are the contact for rankings. I was hoping you could point me to the right people, if at all possible. One caveat: I am a US permanent resident, but citizen only of another country (not trying out for their team though). Does that eliminate me right away?

I always though young folks were supposed to be so tech savvy. This took less than a minute to find.

The answer is yes.

Which part of 'must have a full passport-holdning (sic) citizenship of the country they represent' is unclear? Seems 100% clear to me.
